 Though she has had her fair share of devastating experiences, author Sharen Skylar always manages to keep a positive outlook on life and a cheerful attitude towards those around her.

 Skylar’s childhood was troubled. She was not allowed to have friends, so she would create stories in her mind to pass the time. She credits this sad detail of her life as the reason why she is such a powerful storyteller today.

 Skylar became pregnant with her only son during a long layover in Oregon while she worked as a semi truck driver with her husband. Her son’s father was killed 18 months later. Skylar says that she is blessed to call her now grown son her best friend. His personality often finds its way into her writing as one of the main characters in her novels. She is also a proud grandma to three beautiful children: Addisyn, Jayson and Cayden.

 When Skylar is not writing novels (she’s written 14 to date!), she has a full time day job until she can write exclusively. Sharen is a member of “Soldiers’ Angels,” an organization that adopts soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen and coast guard personnel.  Adoptees receive letters and care packages and support to help with their morale during deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq.

 Skylar also enjoys playing Scrabble, shooting pool, traveling to tropical places, reading, people watching and visiting natural history museums.
